Original Title Answers
Everyone's literary knowledge is quite impressive! The only one no one got was Tenderness. If I didn't have the answers in front of me I would have failed miserably. Now, without further ado:
- First Impressions = Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
- All's Well That Ends Well = War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy (you were right Brandon, don't second guess yourself!)
- The Sea-Cook = Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson
- Stephen Hero = A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce. (To answer the James Joyce question, there is indeed a novel called Stephen Hero that was published posthumously in 1944. Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man is a complete rewrite of Stephen Hero which Joyce abandoned in 1905. Joyce destroyed part of the manuscript, so what was published in 1944 is not complete.)
- The Romantic Egotist = This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald
- Tenderness = Lady Chatterley's Lover by D.H. Lawrence
- Bar-B-Q = The Postman Always Rings Twice by James M Cain
- Something That Happened = Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
- Interzone = Naked Lunch by William S Burroughs
- Catch-18 = Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
- A Jewish Patient Begins Analysis = Portnoy's Complaint by Philip Roth
- The Summer of the Shark = Jaws by Peter Benchley
- The Shine = The Shining by Stephen King
